GTU - SET ENVIRONMENT CLUB was founded in 2021 after a group of individuals decided to turn their shared interests into an official Environmental Club. Since then we’ve grown as a community, and have expanded what we offer to our members. When you decide to join us, you too will gain access to various events and, most importantly, to a group of like-minded individuals who are just as passionate as you are.

Plastic Free Campus Drive

On December 4th, 2021 The Environment Club of GTU-GSET organized “Plastic Free Campus Drive” event which was focused on spreading awareness among individuals about that the harmfulness of uses of plastic; and how important to manage plastic waste in urban area.  In this event students of IOT, Cyber Security, MCNT and Data Science participated and were present to watch the program along with all dignitaries, faculties and Director of GTU-GSET.
We arrange this activity in three different stages. In beginning wet took pledge for reducing usage of plastic in our daily routine life, stop usage of one time use plastic. In the second phase of this event we separated our selves in different groups for plogging , we collected plastic waste from campus and surrounding of its. Will try our best for segregation of waste for R3 (REDUCE - REUSE - RECYCLE)

Road Safety Awareness event

On February 26th, The Environment Club of GTU-GSET organized “Road Safety Awareness” event which was focused on spreading awareness among individuals about road safety measures and rules. In this event students of MCNT, Cyber Security and Data Science participated and were present to watch the program along with all dignitaries, faculties and Director of GTU-GSET.
In this event the Chief guest was Mr.Yogesh Pathak, Retired executive engineer officer from Road & Building department, Government of Gujarat and presently working as advisor in GTU.
During this event two activities were performed, the first was MIME act on road safety traffic rules. Mime is a form of silent art that involves acting or communicating using only movements, gestures, and facial expressions and another activity was Debate on topic of Urbanization, Ruralization And second is Impact of Automization and Digitization and its pros and cons. It was very healthy and informative interaction between students and organizers which led to better understanding and awareness about the afore mentioned event.

Tree Plantation Activity

Plant a memory, Plant a Tree, Do it today for tomorrow 

In the month of July-2021  we celebrated a Tree plantation activity. All the students of GTU -GSET took great initiative to plant tress in their own local area. This is an important step of afforestation to maintain the ecological balance of nature.

DRIECTIONS TO CLEANER TOMORROW

Venue: Aryabhatta Seminar Hall, Academic Block 5, GSET GTU

The event was managed and planned by student coordinators Pooja Mewad and Niharika. Since club members believe that drama is one of the activity that attracts the attention of the gathering to adopt the message in behaviour. So students has rehearsed and performed a drama on the theme to spread awareness of cleaner environment tomorrow among the audience.

In the beginning students have spread awareness related to best out of waste things and informed about various alternatives on how an individual can place the waste at proper place and with that how can we save our environment.

Plastic Free Campus Drive 2023

Venue: All GTU main building area (Back Side)

The event was started by distributing the responsibilities of cleaning the surrounding and making the campus plastic free among different sections for various regions of GTU campus.
GTU-GSET have cleared the GTU Main building area (Back Side). Staff, faculties and students from various programs have actively participated in cleaning the surrounding and making campus plastic free.
The event was attended by around 80 participants including students, staff and faculties from the GSET.

Activity Name:

Structural Engineering Club of GTU-GSET have convened an activity on Assembly on Chandrayan-3 Mission, Broadcast live

Event was initiated by showing some informatorily video/documentary as:

1. The Rise of ISRO

2. Behind the scenes of Chandayan-3

3. The Complete Journey of Chandayan-3

The event was concluded by speech of Honorable Education Minister Shri Rushikeshbhai Patel sir and Hon’ble Vice Chancellor GTU Dr. Rajul Gajjar ma’am.

The event was attended by 50+ students from the GSET.

Celebration of World Water Day 2024

Activity Name:

Date: 20th March 2024

Venue: Arybhatta Seminar Hall, Academic Block-5, GTU-GSET

GSET SAPTAK Environment Club has celebrated World Water Day 2024 on 20th March 2024 by organizing Poster Making and Presentation competition on Theme: Water, Life and Creature.
The competition was conducted with an objective to raise the awareness about importance of fresh water, addressing water related challenges, advocating for access to safe water and promoting to sustainable practices among the students and staff members.

The session was hosted by the students. Total 30 students have participated in the competition from UG and PG programs. The members were divided into 8 groups.

Institute level Elocution competition for NEYP 2025

Date: 11th November 2024; Time: 12.00 PM - 12.30 PM; Delivery: Online through Google Meet​

The competition was conducted with an objective to raise the awareness about importance of environment and its impact on the surrounds and lives of bio-diversity along-with to promote the sustainable practices among the students. The objective served through the competition was also that students can be the leader and brand ambassador for the leading future’s environmental sustainability.​​

The competition was judged by the juries Dr. Kiran Parmar, Adjunct Professor GTU-SET and Dr. Bhavadipkumar Moghariya, Assistant Professor GTU-SET. They have enlightened the participants on their further preparation for the next level competition at University level. Total 02 students have participated in the competition from semester – 1 UG Computer Engineering and Electronics & Communication programs. The participants were evaluated based on 5 criteria’s and recommended for the GTU’s University level competition.

Activity Name

Change in Lifestyle to become ‘aatmaNEERbhar’ – Self-Reliant in Water and Exhibition on “SAVE WATER”

Date: 03rd March 2025;   

Time: 2.00 PM - 5.00 PM;

Venue: Seminar Hall, GTU-SET, Ahmedabad

The objective to convene the event is to raise the awareness about importance of fresh water, addressing water related challenges, advocating for access to safe water and promoting to sustainable practices among the students and staff members.

Mr. Setu Shah, Founder Sujalaam, Ahmedabad a renowned water conservationist was present as a session expert. He provided an in-depth understanding of water management techniques practiced by our ancestors, showcasing their innovative approaches to harvesting, storing, and utilizing water efficiently. He then elaborated on the current challenges related to water availability, addressing key issues such as excessive consumption, wastage, and pollution. He emphasized the urgent need to take corrective actions and shared effective remedies for water conservation. His discussion focused on three fundamental principles: Reduce, Retain, and Reuse.

In parallel with the workshop, an exhibition on "SAVE WATER" was organized, showcasing various models, posters, and innovative ideas related to water conservation. The exhibition served as an interactive platform for knowledge sharing and encouraged creative thinking for water sustainability.

Total around 50 students have participated in the workshop from UG and PG programs along with the staff of GTU-SET. The event was coordinated by Environment Club Mentor Prof. M. S. Seth and Prof. Rasik Makwana under the guidance of Dr. J. A. Amin, Professor GTU-SET.
